Larry Ellison, a prominent American businessman and entrepreneur, co-founded and served as the chief executive officer of Oracle Corporation from 1977 to 2014.

Ellison, known for his ambitious business tactics and notable successes, currently holds positions as chairman, chief technology officer, and co-founder at Oracle, maintaining ownership of nearly 40% of the company.

In 2014, after leading Oracle for 37 years, Ellison relinquished the CEO role while remaining actively engaged with the company as executive chairman and chief technology officer.

Oracle's growth trajectory includes strategic acquisitions of various software companies, with the most notable being the $28.3 billion acquisition of electronic health records company Cerner in 2021.

In 2012, Ellison acquired approximately 98% of Lanai, a Hawaiian island, for $300 million, subsequently making it his permanent residence in 2020.
